Travel Restrictions:

No cross border rentals are allowed from South Africa to Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia or Zimbabwe even if returning to South Africa. Renters wishing to enter Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho or Namibia must be in possession of a letter of authority obtainable from the rental desk at time of pickup. An additonal cross border fee will be charged as follows: ZAR 1775 (Incl Tax) into Namibia and Botswana ZAR 550 (Incl Tax) into Swaziland and Lesotho Cross border to Namibia is permitted at an additonal cost of NAD180.00 road tax (to be paid at the Namibian border). When crossing the border into Swaziland, a road tax fee of ZAR 50.00 will be charged for all cars with a foreign licence plate.

Taxes and charges

Airport fee

Fee for pick-up at an airport location. Included in the total price of your rental but may be payable at the rental counter. You may need to pay an airport fee on top of optional extras purchased at the counter.

Collision damage waiver (CDW)

Often referred to as CDW, this partially covers damages incurred to your vehicle. Please note that you will still be liable for insurance excess (see: Not Included section below). CDW does not cover damage or loss of keys, tyres, glass or undercarriage.

Theft waiver (TW)

This covers costs relating to the theft or attempted theft of the rental vehicle but does not cover the loss of personal possessions. Please note that you will still be liable for insurance excess (see below).

Third party liability protection (TP)

This covers damage sustained to another driver’s car in the event of an accident caused by you.

Limited Mileage

With this car, you can use up to 1800 km per rental period. Additional charge of per km will apply for extra kilometres.
